My Digital Studio Blog Carnival!

I’ve been so busy and out of the loop, I almost missed that Stampin’ Addicts is having a My Digital Studio blog carnival!!  A what? confused.gif Confused image by BeautifulRoses11  A blog carnival.  You’ll travel from blog to blog seeing all the wonderful attractions My Digital Studio (MDS) has in store for you.  The carnival will run from today, Saturday, October 3rd through Sunday, November 1st.

MDS Blog Carnival logo

And what is My Digital Studio?

Well, My Digital Studio is the new software from Stampin’ Up!© which uses SU exclusive artwork.  You can use it to make cards, scrapbook pages, photo albums….the possibilities are endless.  In fact, that’s what the Blog Carnival will show you!  All the projects in the blog carnival were made using MDS.  It’s amazing.   MDS will be available for customers to order soon, so don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to see some blow-your-mind projects that some very talented and creative friends have made.  You’ll really be wowed!

Just click on the button on the left sidebar which will take you the main post at Stampin’ Addicts where you’ll find links to all the blogs participating.  So grab a cuppa and get ready to be impressed.  Take your time and enjoy yourself.  Remember, the carnival lasts until November 1st.

Thumping, thumping, thumping

What in the world is thumping?  Now get your mind out of the gutter.  That‘s not what I mean.  Thumping is a fun technique to add a marbling look to your images.  We focused on it at our monthly technique class this month.  Remember this card from the Non-Convention-Goers Swap I did?  Thumping.  All the girls loved it so I featured it in our class.

Thumped-oranges(web)Here’s the second card we did.  I think Pumpkin Pie is one of my favorite colors.  We thumped the orange slices with Dusty Durango to give them depth and marbling.  This card was inspired by a lemon card I saw on SCS.  Isn’t it a great layout?!

And don’t forget to decorate/embellish the inside!  I stamped some oranges a few times on a diagonal down the left side.

 Supplies Used (all Stampin’ Up!©)
Stamps – Tart & Tangy
Paper – Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie Patterns paper
Ink – Pumpkin Pie
Accessories – Dusty Durango Stampin’ Write Marker, 1 1/4″ circle punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, scallop circle punch, pumpkin pie striped grosgrain ribbon (my fave ribbon ever!), Stampin’ Dimensional

Anybody miss me?

Hello??  Is there anybody out there?  I have been so crazy busy the past couple of weeks that I’m afraid my poor blog has suffered the consequence of being sorely neglected.  First is the new job.  It’s very interesting and über-busy.  I’ve been working many long hours.  Add to that my son’s Bar Mitzvah and that leaves no time for stamping let alone surfing.  I actually had to buy a card for a Bar Mitzvah the week before ours.  How sad is that?!

I don’t think I’ve posted these pictures for you yet, so here is the Bar Mitzvah invitation and inserts as well as the invitation to the party.  Everything was just awesome!  He did an awesome job leading services and all the kids had a great time dancing and singing and playing games at the party.  It was truly a day to remember.

We have our monthly technique class on Thursday this week.  With Jewish High Holy Days upon us, that added another element of business to the mix.  We are doing the Thumping Technique this month that I used on my Non-Convention Goers swap.  Hopefully I will be posting my class samples soon!

It’s going to be another busy week with Yom Kippur preparations (I’m reading Torah) and class prep.  I can’t promise any more new posts.  But hang on with me a while longer and I hope to be able to get back into the groove with stamping and posting samples.

To all those celebrating this week – L’Shana Tova!!

Spotlight Class Card #3

Wasn’t the Stampin’ Addicts blog hop awesome?!  I hope you had a chance to visit each blog and see all the fabulous eye candy that was offered.  Wow!  That’s all, just wow!  I’m so proud to call these wonderful, creative stampers my friends.

Here’s the 3rd card from our Spotlight Technique class.  This card was inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoaststampers.  The artist used Lovely As A Tree (item #115026) with Always Artichoke and Whisper White craft.  I thought it was stunning and wanted to use the technique.  I think the Crushed Curry and Whisper White are awesome.  What do you think?

Spotlight Class Card #2

What an unbelievably busy week.  This new job is really turning my brain into mush!  There’s so much to learn and so much to do.  Thursday was an incredibly long day filled with learning new concepts.  I fell asleep at 8 pm last night!  I’m ignoring that I feel like I’m getting a little scratchy throat and congested chest.  I really really don’t have time for that.  We have a Bar Mitzvah in 2 weeks!  Accckkkk!  So much to do and not enough hours in the day (especially since I have to work this weekend).

Anyway, I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted.  Here’s another card from our spotlighting class.  This one uses the reverse spotlight technique.
